James Beckwith is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Five Star Bank and its holding company, Five Star Bancorp. He came to Five Star Bank in 2003 with more than 20 years of banking experience. Prior to joining Five Star Bank, James served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer for National Bank of the Redwoods, in Santa Rosa, California. James graduated from San Francisco State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting. He is also a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington. James currently serves as a board member for the Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce, KVIE, Valley Vision, and the California Independent Bankers. He is also a current member of the Sacramento State University College of Business Advisory Council. James’ past board service includes LEED and SACTO.

Todd DeVoogd joined Five Star Bank in 2013 as its Chief Financial Officer. He holds an active CPA license and has more than 20 years of community banking experience in the Sacramento area. Todd held the position of Chief Financial Officer at Stockmans Bank in Elk Grove for nearly ten years until Stockmans was acquired by PremierWest Bank in early 2008. After the acquisition he served as PremierWest’s Vice President of Treasury Management until joining Five Star Bank in 2013. Todd is a 2012 graduate of the Pacific Coast Graduate School of Banking in Seattle, Washington. Prior to that he earned a BS in Accounting from National University in Sacramento, CA. Todd is an active volunteer, merit badge counselor, and former Scoutmaster in the Boy Scouts of America’s Greater Yosemite Council.

Mike Lee joined Five Star Bank in 2005 as its Chief Financial Officer bringing over 14 years of bank regulatory experience with the FDIC. In 2007, Mike transitioned to the position of Chief Credit Officer, where he oversaw all administrative functions related to lending. Beginning in 2010, he was appointed as Chief Regulatory Officer, responsible for developing and managing all compliance, audit and examination programs, including Enterprise-wide Risk Management. In 2009 he graduated with honors from the Pacific Coast Bankers Graduate School of Banking in Seattle, Washington. Prior to that he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Economics from Midwestern State University in Texas.

Jack Dalton joined Five Star Bank in 2011 as a SVP, Chief Credit Officer. Jack has more than 30 years of experience in the banking industry. Before coming to Five Star Bank he was with PremierWest Bank where he worked as Sr. VP/Region Credit Administrator and prior to that, Stockmans Bank where he worked as Sr. VP/Chief Credit Officer. Jack holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
Eric Woodstrom joined Five Star Bank in December of 2006 as the President, Northern Valley Region in Redding California. He brings over 25 years of commercial lending and banking experience to Five Star Bank, the last eight years in Northern California as an executive officer of a Redding based bank. Eric leads Five Star Bank’s expansion into the Northern end of the Sacramento Valley with the opening of a full service banking office during March of 2008 in Redding. He is active in the Redding community through involvement on various citizens committees, Redding East Rotary, youth/amateur sports organizations and Scouting. Eric is a Sacramento area native and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in financial management from California State University, Long Beach.
Jon Blackstad joined Five Star Bank in 2009 as the South Valley Region President. He is responsible for the development of business banking relationships throughout the Capital Region. He has more than 17 years of community banking experience working as Chief Operating Officer at Stockmans Bank and, most recently, as Senior Vice President/Regional Administrator at PremierWest Bank which purchased Stockmans in 2008. Jon sits on the Board of Directors at Capital Christian Center, the Board of Trustees at William Jessup University, on the Executive Board of Directors of the Golden Empire Boy Scouts of America and serving on the Board of the Sacramento Regions Builders Exchange in the position of Treasure. In the past, Jon has served on the Board of Directors for Youth for Christ Ministries, and the Board of Directors for the local chapter of the National Association of Evangelicals. He is also a part of the Committee, the Breathe California Annual Holiday Fundraising Committee, and is an Honorary Board Member of the Sacramento Law Enforcement Chaplaincy.
Greg Patton joined Five Star Bank in 2013 serving as Senior Vice President and Capital Region Market Manager, with a focus on building banking relationships from downtown to the foothills. Patton’s banking career dates back to the early 1980’s where starting as a teller after college, he progressed from operations and lending support, to serving in executive management positions in the community banking arena. With degrees in education and economics as well as a graduate of Pacific Coast Banking School, Patton can regularly be found sharing money and banking ideas with schools, local service clubs and not-for-profit agencies in the region as educator and guest lecturer. Greg is a 20 year Rotarian, an active member of many charitable fundraisers and boards, as well as, a founding member and treasurer of the Masters of Giving.
Mike has been an integral part of Five Star Bank since 2005 and believes that being a banker is more than providing capital and depository services, but also providing connections to the community. He is the driving force behind Five Star Bank’s emphasis in Emerging Business Banking which focuses on technology, life sciences and clean technology companies. He also works on project finance, business acquisitions, commercial real estate purchase and construction, as well as, being an active SBA lender. Mike earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from California State University, Sacramento and is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington. Mike is involved in several groups in the capital region that support the emerging markets including service on the executive board of Sacramento Regional Technology Alliance (SARTA), as well as, on the Sacramento State Student Alumni Association and the executive board of the Center for Land Based Learning.
Jason Saslow joined Five Star Bank in 2003 as a Business Development Officer. He has more than 20 years of experience in Marketing and Management in the greater Sacramento area. Jason’s expertise covers all aspects of commercial lending, business banking and deposit relationships. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from California State University, Sacramento and a Masters of Business Administration from Golden Gate University. He is a member of the Association of Commercial Real Estate and serves on the Business Advisory Board at KVIE Public Television. Jason sits on the board of directors of First Tee of Greater Sacramento and is a trustee of the foundation board of directors of UCP of Greater Sacramento and Northern California.
Marcy Sutcliffe joined Five Star Bank in 2012 to lead the development of business banking relationships in the Chico and Butte County Region. Marcy enjoys working closely with her clients to build long term relationships and develop strategies to meet their needs. She has more than 30 years of banking experience in retail operations, mortgage lending, commercial lending, and management. She worked for Butte Community Bank for 16 years until they were acquired by Rabobank, N.A. in 2010. Marcy is a 2008 graduate of the Graduate School of Banking in Boulder Colorado. Marcy currently serves as a board member for Innovate North State and 3Core. Marcy’s past board service includes Quota Club, The Boys and Girls Club and Rotary.
Jason joined Five Star Bank in 2013 as a Senior Vice President and has 20 years’ experience specializing in commercial banking and financial services, of which is comprised of 8 years specializing in emerging / growth technology banking in the San Francisco Bay Area and 9 years specializing in commercial and commercial real estate relationship management and client service as well as various strategic and managerial roles in the Bay Area and the Sacramento region. Jason has had experience working with all industries and business models including software, hardware, service, construction, manufacturing and distribution. Jason represents Five Star Bank in the South Placer marketplace. He is involved in the Roseville and Rocklin Chambers of Commerce and is a member of the Tournament Committee for Christmas Promise. Prior to joining Five Star Bank, Jason has worked at American River Bank and River City Bank in the Sacramento region and is committed to the high touch / high service model that is community banking. Jason is a graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara where he studied macroeconomics and was an officer of the UCSB Rugby Club.
Dan Sozzi joined Five Star Bank in February 2013 as a Senior Vice President and Business Development Officer. He has been banking since 1995, primarily working at community banks. He specializes in Agricultural and Commercial banking. Currently, he is a board member and officer of the Butte Sink Waterfowl Association. Dan also founded and runs a college prep baseball program that has helped more than 100 young men go on to play college or professional baseball.

Manny Phagura joined Five Star Bank in 2014 as Senior Vice President and Business Development Officer. He has a range of experience which includes some years as a business consultant and over ten years focused on commercial and agricultural banking. Phagura graduated as a business major from Chico State University, which led him to the path of banking. As a native of Gridley and current resident of Yuba City, he has enjoyed being part of the community and helping to make it better. He currently serves as Past President of the Yuba City Kiwanis Club, a service group with a focus on serving their community through fundraising for disadvantaged youth.
Stephanie Petrakos joined Five Star Bank in 2006 as a Management Trainee. Since then, she has gained experience in branch operations, loan file maintenance, commercial underwriting, and business development. She is now a Vice President, Credit Administrator, and assists with the administration of the Bank’s loan portfolio. Stephanie has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a double concentration in Marketing and Management from California State University, Sacramento. She is also a graduate of Commercial Lending School hosted by California Bankers Association.
Erica Taylor joined Five Star Bank in 2008 and is the Vice President, Communications and Community Relations Director, Erica leads the bank’s marketing, advertising, employee communication, and community relations efforts. Prior to joining Five Star Bank, she worked as the Marketing Manager at Capital Public Radio; as the Communications Manager at the Sacramento Children’s Home; and as a broadcast journalist at KVIQ-TV in Eureka, CA and KQMS – Newstalk 1400 in Redding, CA. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Humboldt State University in Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in Broadcast News and a master’s degree in Communication Studies from California State University, Sacramento. Erica serves on the executive committee of NextED and is a member of the board of directors of Sacramento Covered, the Los Rios Community College Foundation, Sacramento Unified Education Foundation, and the YMCA of Superior California. She also serves on the Leadership Sacramento Alumni Committee and is the past-chair of the SRBX :: NEXT Young Professionals Group. Erica was named one of the 2012 “Top 40 Under 40″ by the Sacramento Business Journal and was named the Metro EDGE Young Professional of the Year by the Sacramento Metro Chamber in 2015.
Mark Lepp joined Five Star Bank in 2010 as a Vice President, Business Development Officer specializing in commercial banking. Mark has more than 9 years of experience in the commercial banking industry and is responsible for originating commercial real estate loans and building deposit relationships in the South Valley Region. Most recently Mark held the position of VP/ Branch Manager at PremierWest Bank (formerly Stockmans Bank) in Elk Grove. Prior to his banking career Mark managed various sales & marketing teams in California and Washington. He is a graduate of Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington. Mark is Chairman of Teen Center USA and also serves on the Board of Directors for the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce and the Elk Grove Regional Scholarship Foundation. Mark works closely with his clients and enjoys learning more about their operations.
Dennis Mazorra joined Five Star Bank in 2013. He has five years of experience as a banker and 25 years of experience in the lumber and manufacturing industry. That experience covers the breadth of the lumber industry from manufacturing to intercontinental distribution. With his experience, Mazorra is invaluable in his banking relationships. Especially to those in the commercial lumber industry as he knows the services they may need. Mazorra is a BYU alumnus where he was a part of the nationally ranked football team. As part of the board at Global Flex Manufacturing, he is a large supporter of the United Cancer Society. Brenna joined Five Star Bank in January of 2015 as a Vice President, Business Development Officer in our Chico office. With almost 15 years of experience in the banking industry, her background includes assisting commercial and small- to middle-market businesses with their banking needs in the greater Sacramento region. Brenna’s past community services includes sitting on the City of Dixon’s Planning Commission from 2011 to 2013. She currently lives in Chico and is planning on getting involved with the community there as her family puts down roots. Brians is actually a return resident of the Chico area as she graduated from Chico State with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree.
