Notes from the CEO
Moving Our Region Forward
This region has been through a lot during the economic roller coaster of the last few years. While the details of the new downtown arena are starting to take shape, now is a good time to remind ourselves to keep the bigger picture in focus. This project is about regional growth, new possibilities, and bringing the Sacramento Region up to another level. At this new level, if we do it right, revitalizing the urban core of the region will attract new businesses, jobs and the thriving work force to staff them.
At the “Perspective on Winning,” luncheon hosted by the Metro Chamber Mayor Kevin Johnson, Kings Owner Vivek Ranadivé, and Kings President Chris Granger spoke to the business leaders of Sacramento (check out this SacBee article); the energy in the room was palpable. We all lived it, but it is still a great story to tell about a community that came together, made their voices heard and won. From “Paint the Town Purple,” “Here We Stay,” “Here We Buy,” and “Crown Downtown,” the citizens of the Sacramento region rallied for progress and they won a big win that is an essential element in the reshaping of this region’s future.
Congratulations are in order to all involved who made and are making this happen from the business community to the elected leaders. The civic pride generated by the events of the past few months will fuel the passion for progress and Five Star Bank is looking forward to being a part of it. Vivek said it many times during the interview: there is no reason Sacramento can’t.
